Rolls 1206 and 1207: Ilford HP5+ @ EI 400 // Caffenol CL semi-stand
- 1207: Denver / Minneapolis. (Nov/Dec 2020.)
- 1206: Swetsville Zoo / southern Denver. (?Oct 2020.)
Two rolls of Ilford HP5+ film, both shot at box speed on the Pentax K-1000, on 35mm rolls in the 120 tank.
Mixed 500mL Caffenol C-L: 8g washing soda, 5g ascorbic acid powder, 10g iodized table salt, 20g Kroger instant coffee. Pre-wet film ~1 hour at room temperature. Poured out water, then poured in developer; agitated 20x over 30 seconds, then 5x at 30 minutes, to a total developing time of 60 minutes. Alternated orientation at each agitation to avoid uneven development.
After 60 minutes, disposed of developer, rinsed in 68 degree water, filling and emptying the tank until the water rinsed completely clear, then four more times. Fixed in Ilford Rapid Fixer 1+4 for 5 minutes (that’s now 7 rolls from this batch of fixer), turning 10x over 15 seconds at the top of every minute. Recaptured fixer and rinsed for ten minutes, then emptied tank, added a few drops of Photo-Flo, filled tank again and agitated 20x, and hung negatives vertically to dry.
