Most of these are from our recent road trip—depending on how this-here plague plays out, perhaps our last road trip for a while. Sigh. I’m developing these at the same time as rolls 1162-1173, which are in the two-reel tank and soaking longer at low temperature.

Mixed 1L Caffenol CL: 16g waterfree washing soda, 10g Vitamin C, and 40g instant coffee (Nescafe Taster’s Choice). Note that there is no iodized salt here: the highest ISO in the tank is 125, so I’m assuming that I won’t need a restrainer at all. In any case, I’m using 150mL of leftover Caffenol-CL from the batch made for the other tnak, so there is, proportionally, 1.5g of iodized salt in the 1150mL of developer in this tank, or the equivalent of 1.35g of salt per liter. Pre-wet for ~30 minutes while mixing and beginning to type up these plans. There is once again a little leftover developer, but trying to shave 120 mL or so off of the total contents, and that’s too much math to do in my head.

Poured out pre-wetting water, then poured developer into tank and noted time. Agitated gently 40x over first 60 seconds. Agitated 15x over 30 seconds at 7:30 in. Agitated gently 10x at 15 minutes in, then every fifteen minutes thereafter, alternating top with bottom to ensure even development, and always knocking on the bottom to dislodge air bubbles, and always putting it back into the picnic cooler.

Rinsed ~5 minutes in tap water at ~68 degrees, emptying container entirely multiple times. Fixed in Ilford Rapid Fixer 1+4 (that’s now 5 rolls from this 1.5L batch of fixer), agitating 10x every minute for three minutes. Reclaimed fixer, then rinsed 10 minutes in ~68 degree water. Added a small amount of Photo-Flo to the water in the tank, agitated for thirty seconds, dumped water. Shook reels, then hung the negatives vertically to dry.
