- 1103: Barrel-Aged Beer Fest, Denver
- 1102: Barrel-Aged Beer Fest, Denver
Both Ilford Delta 400 at box speed of 400. Both in metal 35mm reels in 120 tank. Pre-wet film ~20 minutes at 68 degrees.
Mixed one liter of Caffenol C-L: 16g waterfree washing soda, 10g Vitamin C, 15g iodized table salt; let stand five minutes; added 40g instant coffee (Kroger). Mixed each into ~950mL water at 68 degrees in indicated order, shaking each to ensure it is fully dissolved. Added water at 68 degrees to 1L. Let stand five minutes. The intent is to develop two more rolls of film with the other half of the batch later today.
Poured out pre-wetting water, then poured developer into tank and started timer for 70 minutes. Agitated gently 15x over first 30 seconds, then let stand at edge of sink. Agitated 15x over 30 seconds at 7:30 in. Agitated gently 10x at 15 minutes in, then every fifteen minutes thereafter, alternating each time which end tank rested on, and always knocking on the bottom to dislodge air bubbles..
Rinsed ~5 minutes in tap water at ~68 degrees, emptying container entirely multiple times. Fixed in Ilford Rapid Fixer 1+4 (that’s now 38 rolls, 28 after replenishment), agitating 10x over 20 seconds initially, then 5x over ten seconds every minute for seven minutes. Reclaimed fixer, then rinsed 10 minutes in 68 degree water. Finger-squeegied each roll, then cracked it like a whip several times, then finger-squeegied again, then hung the negatives horizontally to dry.
