One more low-effort batch using Patrick's mead solera. I added a leftover bag of frozen blackberries, plus some fresh thyme later. We spent more time than I should admit throwing around "thyme" puns, but "Thyme Is Money" was the undisputed winner.

Ingredients in this batch

  • 1 gallon solera mead
  • 10 oz Stahlbush Island Farms Marion Blackberries
  • About 0.5 oz crushed, fresh thyme sprigs

Process

Drew off a gallon of mead into a 1-gallon carboy, added the partially frozen blackberries, and put an airlock on. I added some fresh thyme next time we brewed, and the mead came out rather heavier on the thyme than most would like - but I love it. I bottled this on September 9 with a final gravity of 1.002.
