Handouts for Grad Seminars

If you are/were a student in a grad seminar and want to pick up a copy of a handout from the discussion, why, then, you're in the right place. Collect the whole set, kids! Remember, ownership of stuff establishes identity!

If you're a student in one of my discussion sections and are looking for materials related to that section, you should probably go here instead.

Fall 2011

Notes for discussion on Gertrude Stein's Tender Buttons and Marjorie Perloff's discussion of Stein, prepared for Professor Huang's course in radical poetics.

Winter 2011

Notes for discussion on a set of readings for Professor Boscagli's Cityscapes course, including discussion of Foucault's heterotopias, Rem Koolhaas's article "Junkspace," and numerous other topics.

Fall 2010

Notes on Middlemarch, a quick-and-dirty handout for discussion during Professor Caldwell's Victorian literature course. Mostly consists of quotes.

Spring 2010

Technology Two Ways, a handout for discussion during week 5 of Professor Boscagli's theory seminar on modernism. Includes pretty, pretty pictures.

Winter 2010

Handout for discussion of Ursula K. LeGuin's The Left Hand of Darkness in Professor Shewry's course on time, space, and ecology. Main topics for discussion: gender; darkness, light, and shadow; shifgrethor; and time. I'm rather happy with the layout, myself.

Handout and additional material for a discussion of David Harvey's The Condition of Postmodernity in Professor Duffy's course on materialist theory. Includes a chapter-by-chapter summary.

Fall 2009

Handout for discussion of Konrad Kujau's forgery of the so-called "Hitler Diaries" in Professor Ghosh's theory course on literary economics. A rough and ugly hack of a document, unfortuately.
